Leigh Kremer, HR Director/Controller
Leigh joined our practice in 2019. With over 27 years of Healthcare Management experience in both the Medical and Dental fields, she brings many talents to our team that are necessary for multi-location practice management. Leigh’s work ethic, knowledge, and empathy are second to none! Leigh loves interacting with our staff and community of patients and considers it a great privilege. She has three children Sarah, Andrew, and Alexander.
Rebecca Rashid, Vice President of Operations
Rebecca has more than 20 years of experience as a registered dental hygienist and uses her experience and knowledge to maintain high standards in clinical, administrative and practice management. In her role as Vice President of Operations, she enjoys developing a happy and highly functioning team based on collaboration, trust and fun. She believes this creates the perfect environment for our great patients. With two sons away at college, and one daughter in high school, Rebecca enjoys watching college football games, completing home projects, reading, and traveling.
Deana, Registered Dental Hygienist
Deana is an honors graduate of the Lake Superior College dental hygiene program. She has been a dental hygienist with our practice since 2000. She is passionate about patient care, and making people feel welcomed and comfortable is her specialty. When not at the office, travel, reading, and family time with her daughter and husband are her favorite activities.
Mickie, Registered Dental Hygienist
Mickie is a long-standing, dedicated staff member of our professional team. Her experience and technical proficiency as a registered dental hygienist aligns with our mission for excellence in patient care. She is a three-time cancer survivor who enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, fishing, long walks with her dogs, and golf cart rides with her husband of 41 years. More recently, she is a grandmother for the first time and cherishes playing and giggling with her new grandson.
Amberly, Certified Dental Assistant
Amberly joined us in the fall of 2020. She graduated in 2013 from Dakota County Technical College with an Associate of Applied Science and her Dental Assisting License. Additionally, she has furthered her dental career by completing Sedation IV and Restorative Functions Certifications.
Amberly and her wife love everything the North Shore has to offer. To name a few activities, they enjoy the local breweries and cross-country skiing with their dog, Cooper. Amberly is also active in the Duluth Community with recreational sports, such as soccer and broomball.
Desiree, Registered Dental Hygienist
Desiree graduated top of her class from Lake Superior College in 2021 and received The Colgate STAR award. She’s been a patient at Port City for years and knew she wanted to work here after graduation. She assists chair side to Dr. Hammer, as well as sees patients for hygiene appointments. She plans to continue her education in restorative functions. Desiree enjoys spending time outdoors hiking with her partner Troy, their baby. and their bulldog. She also saves animals as a certified veterinary technician at the local emergency vet clinic.
Kathyrn, Registered Dental Hygienist
Kathryn joined our team in October, 2021. She graduated from the North Dakota State College of Science with an Associate Degree for Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Since she was little she’s aspired to work in the dental field because of her passion for helping others love their smile, and as a Registered Dental Hygienist, she gets to do just that. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking, and traveling with her family.
Brenda, Patient Care Coordinator
Brenda has over 12 years of dental experience and enjoys greeting and helping patients. Brenda was born and raised in Duluth and has been married to her husband Todd for over 34 years. They have one daughter Jacki (lives in Duluth) and two adorable grandchildren. She enjoys camping, reading, crafts and scrapbooking.
Steph, Patient Care Coordinator
Steph joined Port City Dental in April of 2021 as a patient care coordinator. She loves working with our patients and strives to ensure that everyone feels welcomed and understood. Steph loves spending time with her husband and their dog. Together they enjoy being outdoors, all year round! She also cherishes time spent with their families and friends.
